Script loading does not fail gracefully in IE8

Reported by brianchirls | August 31st, 2011 @ 11:52 AM | in 0.9 (closed)

Internet Explorer < 9 does not support addEventListener, so Popcorn throws an error upon loading.

This becomes a problem when Popcorn is concatenated and minimized along with other scripts.

There should be a quick check at the top to see if and addEventListener are supported and, if not, the whole thing should just return. So Popcorn won't load, but at least it won't keep the rest of the scripts loading.
